It's very samuai..

One word i've learnt very quickly.. samui
It's so cold here! I think when i visit Disney-sea, i'm going to have to wear double layers!!

I had a blast yesterday at Tokyo Disneyland.. it was a world of adventure!
Took me a while to get there which wasn't fun.. but once i got there it was so much fun. I arrived in the middle of one of the christmas parades, so i got to see quite a few characters straight up.

Walked through the gates and within 2 seconds i was being asked by school girls for photos.. it was so random! I think i should start charging now haha

Wandered around the park for a bit, wanted to explore the park before going on rides. Took me just on 1 1/2 hours to walk around the entire place, whilst going on a boat ride and visiting 'It's a small world' (yes.. it is called it's.. i thought it was weird too) which i had to line up for. Had to visit it as cassie had mentioned how horribly represented australia was.. and she was right. Every other country gets the moving dolls in costume.. we get multicoloured kangaroos, platypus and koalas :-S But i did see one aboriginal doll with a dingo..
Thank god it is christmas here.. meant i didnt have to hear the draining 'it's a small world' song over and over, got a chrissy carol now and again haha

After wandering the park, decided to try some rides. Went on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, Monster's Inc Light and Go Seek ride, the Merrie-Go-Round and some more.. but cannot remember what they were! Grr..
I was shattered though to see that Alice's Teaparty Teacup ride was closed for improvements.. i wanted to cry!! Haha, how can you not visit disneyland without going on that ride??

Have to say, the japanese are really into their popcorn here at parks. I noticed they had a lot of turkey legs, churros and caramel popcorn at USJ, but they had all that including curry popcorn at disneyland. Curry popcorn.. since when?? Mind you.. the containers you get when you buy the popcorn are massive (and decorated depending on where you buy it in the park).. so big that they have lanyards on them to carry them around! It's a funny thing to see.

Watched a few shows/parades during the day.. but was a bit annoyed that the only live production show they had in the entire park (a peter pan show) was on a lottery system, and you could only enter once for the entire day. Of course me being one of the few gaijin in the park, and being on my own lost the lottery.. damn you computer!!

Started to get really dark around 5.30pm so found somewhere inside to have a bite to eat. Was hoping to stay to see the fireworks and lights parade later that night, but it was getting so samui by the minuet and i was already kòota.. and my battery was dying on me, so decided to call it quits.
Bought a cute and funny mickey santa cape.. it is a santa cape (red with white fur around it) that has mickey mouse hands attached to it as gloves, and has a hood that is mickey mouse ears and a santa hat. It's so japan! :-P Makes up for my mistake of not buying my tigger onesie in Osaka.. still kicking myself though that i didn't get one.

Train ride back wasn't too bad. Got back to the hostel and ended up going out for dinner with 3 people in the hostel, then we headed back to the bar connected to where we're staying and met some japanese people wanting to learn some english. The entire setup here is bizaar.. it's just confusing.. no idea how to explain it haha

Was hoping to post all of this.. and a lot more.. last night, but the internet here wasn't working.. so i tried my best this morning to remember all i had done.

Will post again tonight about my final day in Tokyo.. and Japan! *tear*

  1. Hi Whizzz
Sounds like Japan has been a great success, I knew you would eventually meet someone to talk to because there would be so many in the same position as you, touring solo. It must have been a great thrill for you to meet up with Cassie whom you had only met on the net, now at least you can put a face to the person you are corresponding with. Now on to the Big Smoke, London and I'm sure you will also have a ball while there, I am certainly looking forward to more of your travels so keep the comments coming and enjoy.
Opa sends his love and is quite envious but he's had his turn, now it's yours. Must say bye for now and love ya lots
