After yet another sleep-in, today was the day that i got to meet my extended family.
After Johns (Rika's dad, who is my mother's cousin) picked up Rika and I, we went to his sister's (Britta) house to meet the family. There was Britta
(unsure on if that's how it's spelt.. sorry in advance), Max (i think that was her husband's name, again sorry for not remembering), Dennis (oldest child), apparently a girl (who sometimes lives at home, sometimes doesn't.. she wasn't there) and two boys (again.. forgotten the names.. sorry!). Only Dennis spoke english.. well the 2 younger kids did as well i think, but i didn't really get to see much of them.
But what was really funny was that when i walked into their living room to sit down, they were watching american pie on tv.. and it was german dubbed! Haha.. it was so funny.. the voices were high pitched and so wrong..
But they turned the channel onto a music channel and they put on Mix 101.1 from melbourne which was cool.. got to listen to some aussie voices for a change :-)
Once I met the family, Dennis, Johns, Rika and I drove to this local park and spent an hour on Rika's sled going down hills.
It was so much fun.. until Dennis made me go down this massive hill.. which had a bump at the bottom of it = flying sled. I freaked out the whole way done.. still had a blast doing it.. but never again haha
We then headed to a mexican restaraunt (i was frozen.. couldn't feel my toes) for a late lunch which was nice. Got to talk to dennis a bit more and talk about home. He offered to show me around berlin which was nice.. so i took him up on the offer. Hopefully wednesday i will get to hang out with him again.
Dropped Dennis home, then Johns showed me his house where he was living. Also got to see a few photos of Opa (my grandad) when he was a young child.. hasn't changed!
They then dropped me off back at where i was staying (Rika is spending the night with her dad as she has school tomorrow).. so i have been home alone for a few hours now.
Thinking of another early night as i have a big day of sightseeing ahead with antje :-)
(i do have photos to put up.. but sadly no net connection for my laptop.. so if i make it back to london, i will have to post photos then)
